The National Association of Federal Retirees (Federal Retirees) is Canada’s largest national advocacy organization dedicated to representing active and retired members of the federal public service, Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and federally appointed judges, as well as their spouses, partners and survivors.

Compensation: $90,977 to $97,975

Summary of the Role
Reporting to the Director of Advocacy, the Advocacy and Policy Officer, Health Care will play an important role in advancing Federal Retirees’ strategic priorities. As part of your role, you will monitor and research developments in health policy, politics and government, and turn complex information into clear, compelling advocacy materials that support the Association’s priorities.
You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities to influence health-care policy and make sure Federal Retirees’ perspectives are effectively communicated to decision-makers at all levels of federal and provincial government.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will be an important part of the role. You will work closely with colleagues to develop and deliver advocacy plans and campaigns that engage members, volunteers and the broader public.
Your knowledge of members’ health and dental benefit plans will also allow you to provide advice and support to the National Office and branches, helping strengthen the Association’s advocacy efforts across the country.
